Food and Drink Murrumbateman, Yass Valley, New South Wales
8 Frame Honey is a local beekeeping business with a focus on education and sustainability. They specialise in running educational courses, producing top bar beehives and selling bees as well as sustainably produced, handmade products that reduce impact on the environment.
These products include pure, natural honey that is not heat-treated, reusable, environmentally friendly beeswax wraps, furniture polish and beeswax that other locals add to lip balms, salves and candles. 8 Frame Honey also run courses in beekeeping, making beeswax wraps and beeswax furniture polish.
Their beekeeping workshops are hands-on, fun and educational. Most of the course is spent inspecting beehives. In their beeswax wrap courses they guide you through making your own reusable beeswax wraps. Their furniture polish course teaches you how to make your own furniture polish using beeswax and you will make your own jar of polish to take home. 8 Frame honey keep their participant numbers in all courses and workshops very low to ensure participants are mentored through the process and receive as much hands on experience as possible.
