For lovers of beer, a trip to the NSW Central Coast isn’t complete without a visit to Block ‘n Tackle.
While small by brewery standards, Block ‘n Tackle more than makes up for size with their variety of high quality, ‘small-batch’ ales. Their selection of year round favourites includes a Pale Ale, American Amber, IPA, Belgian Witbier and a Porter – just to name a few. There’s always special and seasonal brews on rotation meaning there’s always something new on offer for each visit. Perhaps a Dry Irish Stout, or a Hefeweizen – maybe a Dark Saison brewed with lime and white pepper?
Family friendly and with seating for around 30, the brewery’s cellar door is relaxed, rustic and industrial. On live music days, there can be standing room only, so check the website to see what’s on. A simple, but delicious mezze menu featuring local cheeses is also available to accompany the beers.
Guided tasting tours of the brewery are available year-round during opening hours giving visitors an opportunity to learn more about the brewing process. Tours include a five beer tasting paddle with a detailed talk on the flavour and aroma profiles of each of the beers.
