Located right in the heart of Redfern, Isaac is a new restaurant serving up contemporary cuisine in a bright, casual space. Owner Riccardo Roberti and chef Samuel Bull, both of whom married into Middle Eastern families, have successfully combined Middle Eastern and Italian cooking to create a modern yet familiar-feeling menu.
Despite offering Mediterranean food with an experimental twist, the flavours at Isaac remain simple and tasty. Indulge in the goat cheese and pumpkin-filled cappelletti with hazelnut, sage and brown butter, or keep things light and fresh with poached snapper, tomato, fennel and clams in an olive oil broth.
On top of the dessert menu, patrons can also round out their meals with a selection of cheeses, teas, coffees, sweet wines and digestivi. Despite being a newcomer to Sydney’s dining scene, Isaac is already proving that comfort food can be both simple and beautiful.
