The Visitor Information Centre also stocks a wide range of local produce, souvenirs and arts and crafts.
Set in the heart of Australian Heritage, Tenterfield District is surrounded by over 10 National Parks and is the gateway to both the New England and Northern Rivers Regions. The major centre of the region is Tenterfield, surrounded by the villages of Drake, Jennings, Legume, Liston, Torrington and Urbenville – each, as you will discover, with their own unique characteristics.
There’s plenty to see and do in the Tenterfield region including Bald Rock National Park – the largest granite monolith in Australia, Boonoo Boonoo Falls, The Tenterfield Saddler, the Tenterfield Railway Station, Sir Henry Parkes School of Arts Museum and Theatre, Mount Mackenzie Scenic Drive and Lookout and a number of local award-winning wineries. The surrounding scenery is stunning and perfect for a scenic drive and day trips.
