Dunoon is located 20 kilometres from Lismore and is known as the macadamia capital of Australia. The macadamia processing plant sits on the outskirts of the village and produces delicious products sold here and overseas.
Visit the Tanglefoot Gallery that has a wide range of local arts and crafts. Pick up local produce from the Dunoon General Store or enjoy its impressive sports ground and club that hosts regional cricket and soccer games. Stop for a meal at the clubs restaurant offering indoor and outdoor dining.
Dunoon is the gateway to the Whian Whian State Forest and Rocky Creek Dam. As the water supply for Lismore, swimming is prohibited but enjoy a picnic by its shores or one of the easy forest walks.
