The tranquil beach resort town of Shoalhaven Heads is in an idyllic location where the Shoalhaven River flows into the ocean. Water sports such as fishing, surfing and boating are popular and you can even go for a leisurely river cruise.

Take a long hike along Seven Mile Beach where you’ll pass beach fishermen, families playing in the sand and children flying kites. The beach is part of Seven Mile Beach National Park and has several good picnic spots, walkways and viewing platforms.

If wine’s your thing, the Shoalhaven Coast wine region now has 18 vineyards, 16 cellar doors and a thriving food scene. The largest estate wineries – Coolangatta Estate and Silos Estate -are just a short drive from Shoalhaven Heads and have terrific restaurants, while Two Figs Winery overlooks lush green fields and the Shoalhaven River.
