Tantangara Dam is a concrete gravity dam, one of the 16 major dams of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. Work commenced on the dam in 1958 and was completed in 1960. Tantangara Dam is 45.1 metres high and 216.4 metres in length. The dam has a capacity of 254 gigalitres, and is on the Murrumbidgee River, wholly within the Kosciuszko National Park.
