Wagait Shire is a quiet beach community on the north coast of the Cox Peninsula, 8kms to the west of Darwin (by boat) and a popular weekend getaway for the locals. There is a passenger ferry from Darwin (Cullen Bay) to Mandorah which will make the trip in around 15 minutes. Then you will need to travel another 5kms to Wagait Beach which can be walked or bring a bicycle along. The alternative approach is by road but that is a 128km drive!
