From the Roper River in the Gulf to the offshore Bromby Islands, English Company Islands, and the Wessel Islands, the mangrove-lined rivers of Arnhem Bay and Buckingham Bay. Whether it’s the iconic Barramundi or the fast, exciting strike of a Spanish Mackerel, Trevally, Queenfish, or Marlin, the NT has it all. While most groups’ prime target is the Barramundi, which is exceptionally good in estuaries, headlands, and creeks, there is also the opportunity to catch Fingermark, GTs, Mangrove Jacks, Estuary Cod, Salmon, and Barracuda.
Fish from sun up to sun down, and you’ll be rewarded with a hot shower, delightful food, and a crispy cold beverage at the end of the day on the mothership, the Iron Lady. She is a 65-foot luxury live-aboard motor yacht – equipped with full air-conditioning sleeping arrangements for 8 guests (3 bedrooms, each with ensuite), a large saloon, an open-air deck upstairs and four tenders to cater smaller, more personalised fishing adventures. Australian Sportfishing Charters offers guided sportfishing in remote East Arnhem Land, located in the northeastern part of the Northern Territory. The beautiful Top End, with its many islands and estuaries, is renowned for its pristine landscapes, rich Indigenous culture, and exceptional fishing opportunities.
In addition to a diverse number of fish species, the region boasts unspoilt rivers, headlands, and creeks that are home to the iconic Barramundi. The nearby Wessel or English Company islands offer a spectacular change of scenery with waters that are virtually unfished.
You will be living aboard the mothership Iron Lady for 4-7 days in a shared or private charter with an onboard Chef and Hostess and numerous Fishing Guides. The Iron Lady has 3 cabins, each with an ensuite, fully air-conditioned, a large saloon, and an open-air deck for dining upstairs. Four tenders and guides cater to smaller, more personalised daily fishing adventures- you couldn’t be better looked after during your charter.
