Bawaka Cultural Experiences is a fully Aboriginal owned and operated business. Bawaka homeland is home to the Burarrwanga family who specialise in Yolŋu cultural awareness and immersion experiences for tourists and corporate groups.

Your guide will tell you about how Yolgnu gathered bush foods, and about traditional remedies or craft materials depending on the seasons and the make up of the group.
Experience traditional spear fishing and crab hunting. Learn about Moiety – Yirratja and Dhuwa (Kinship) and how this connects us to the land and to each other, one big Earth balanced. Hear about our seven seasons and see what the environment is telling us.

Bawaka Experience is an Aboriginal owned and operated business based at Bawaka homeland in East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
Guests are welcomed to Bawaka with a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony before being immersed in Yolŋu culture through cultural workshops and lessons.
Day tours or multi-night tours are available on select dates.
The tour is self catered, with guests required to bring their own food for the duration of their tour. Locally caught seafood may be available depending on season and tour schedule.
