The Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge provide visitors the opportunity to experience a remote and restricted area of Kakadu in an environmentally and culturally sensitive way; by way of small group tours led by experienced guides and lodge hosts. The lodge is situated in a special and justifiably renowned part of the Park, known as Cannon Hill, which has abundant wildlife, especially bird and marine life, and where a large diversity of the Park’s landscape elements come together. The sandstone outliers around Cannon Hill host significant rock art dating back many thousands of years the whole of the Cannon Hill area where the camp is situated is a registered scared site.

The lodge is situated in an extremely special and justifiably renowned part of the Park, known as Cannon Hill, which has abundant wildlife, especially bird and marine life, and where a large diversity of the Park’s landscape elements come together. The area has considerable importance to the local Aboriginal people, some of whom still live nearby to the lodge. In fact, the whole of the Cannon Hill area where the camp is situated is a registered scared site. The sandstone outliers around Cannon Hill host significant rock art dating back many thousands of years.

A Sunset Rock art Safari explores unique aboriginal art and sandstone outcrops before enjoying appetisers and a spectacular champagne sunset on the escarpment and over the wetlands. Return to the lodge for a delightful dinner. After breakfast, enjoy an Aboriginal-guided Guluyambi Cultural cruise. The all-inclusive tariff covers accommodation in a tented safari cabin, dinner and breakfast, transfers to and from the Border Store, Sunset Rock Art Safari and cruise.

Located in an exclusive and restricted area of Kakadu National Park, where less that 1000 people a year access this permit-only area, the lodge features just 12 twin share ensuited tented safari cabins. Your comfort is enhanced by private en-suite facilities, comfortable beds, insect screens and a fan. The only extras are alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.
