Sacred Song is a free community concert that celebrates sacred music from a diversity of traditions: Samoa, Africa, Pitjantjatjara, Western Arrentte, Maori, Buddhist Kirtan, Christian Traditions and many others. Sit on the lawns and experience the moving sacred music from local communities as the sun sets on another beautiful Central Australian spring day.
Singers, musicians and audiences will be united in this sixth annual celebration of cultural diversity and artistic brilliance in Central Australia. The 2018 Desert Song Festival brings a myriad of concerts, workshops and masterclasses that present choirs, musicians, small vocal ensembles and solo performers, in a celebration of; the singer, the song, the instrument, the land and its people.
Artists from this vibrant, multi-cultural community, in the heart of Australia, come together to present a diverse program of events, that reveal incredible musical talent. Using staged, iconic heritage venues in town and the majestic, ancient landscapes of Central Australia as a backdrop, the 2018 Desert Song Festival will give visitors and locals an unforgettable experience.
