Enjoy a Picnic Day at beautiful White Gums – the rural retreat for Desert Song Festival 2019.
Share in a day of activities including walks, guided cultural journeys, traditional Central Australian cooking by the Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir, an Aboriginal Art market, and a ‘wellness’ workshop comprising Yoga accompanied by some excellent music and food stalls.
Singers, musicians and audiences will unite with a diverse program of events over 10 glorious days (September 6- 15), revealing incredible musical talent.
With bold, artistic innovation, the rich musical traditions of Africa, India, the Americas and Central Australia will combine to showcase our global musical heritage.
Through music and song, audiences will feel the ‘connection to country’ the custodians of this land have, as two major events, in the Tjoritja/ West MacDonnell Ranges, bookend the festival.
