Alice Springs’ locals and visitors are invited to take part in ‘The Public Lamentation for Peace’-a free musical event from the diverse and colourful 2018 Desert Song Festival program.
Join this gentle staging of a creative vigil for peace. Focusing on creating love, peace and a welcome for refugees from war-torn places, this simple gathering is a small contribution towards a more harmonious and humane society.
Choirs will perform peaceful soliloquies accompanied by readings of poetry and prose atop ANZAC Hill, with the dramatic MacDonnell Ranges as a back drop.
Be a part of this special community event and marvel at the beauty of the landscape, as the sun sets for another evening of Desert Song Festival passion- “What a Wonderful World!– Celebrating Global Heritage”.
The 2018 Desert Song Festival unites singers, musicians and audiences, from Alice Springs and visitors to the region.
