They are a heritage-listed hotel on Strathmore Station, approximately 34 kilometres from the mining town of Collinsville. They offer lunch and dinner seven days a week, cold drinks and a relaxed country atmosphere.
They often host live music events, their annual rodeo and have comfortable accommodation as well as camping.
The Bowen River Hotel was originally built in 1861 as a homestead, built in the 1860s from local timber.
They were named the Heidelberg Inn until 1906, and the hotel was fully restored in the late 1990’s.
