The Lake Quilpie

Caravan, Camping and Holiday Parks

Experience an outback station stay on a 2,500-acre property running Merino sheep, beef cattle and Kalahari red goats. The Lake Quilpie is just a short drive (4km) from downtown Quilpie with easy access for conventional vehicles, motorhomes, caravans and touring coaches.

Taking pride of place on the property is Lake Houdraman, a beautiful expanse of water set amongst shady gum trees. Swim, fish or ride your pushbike around the lake. Plus, it’s a birdwatcher’s delight. Luxe it up in their new lakeside Bathhouse. Enjoy a relaxing soak in warm artesian water (additional charge). There’s also a pot belly heater.

Learn more about the property on a private 4WD station tour (additional charge and bookings essential), toast marshmallows and stargaze around the campfire. Meet other travellers at the communal bar after 5 pm.

The Lake Quilpie offers a range of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets. Keen campers will love the unpowered lake-view campsites or level-ground powered sites. Campsite guests can access onsite amenities with flushing toilets and hot showers.

One-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages are available for those seeking more creature comfort. There’s even a cottage boasting its own Bathhouse with a view! Family and friends groups can maximise their time together in the renovated Shearers Quarters with its shared kitchen and amenities. All linen is supplied for cottages and Shearers Quarters accommodation.
