The Daintree Dreaming Day Tour combines genuine Aboriginal experiences with the natural beauty of the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park including Mossman Gorge. To truly appreciate this magical landscape you will be taken on a journey from coast to rainforest to meet and learn the ancient culture from the traditional owners of the Kuku Yalanji people.

Learn traditional hunting and gathering skills with one of the Kubirri -Warra Clan on one of their two hour coastal and mangrove cultural walks.
Welcome to Country Ceremony – traditional smoking ceremony which is conducted by Aboriginal people with specialised cultural knowledge to welcome people to their land.

A delicious lunch infused with local flavours at Mossman Gorge Maye Cafe is included before immersing yourself on a guided rainforest walk through pristine rainforest of the World Heritage Listed Daintree National park or upgrade to the optional Aboriginal guided Nugadiku Dreamtime Walk at Mossman Gorge.

You will be collected from your accommodation by their air-conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. Travel north along the Captain Cook Highway, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives towards the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park, crossing the mighty Daintree River by cable ferry.

You will journey through this spectacular example of Mother Nature, which contains the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatened by extinction. Your experienced guide will enlighten your journey with incredible stories and history as you continue on the four wheel drive only Bloomfield Track. This will take you through some of the most amazing scenery in the country, crossing rivers and climbing mountain ranges.

Visit the famous Lion’s Den Hotel (est. 1875), one of North Queensland’s oldest running bush pubs. Arriving in Cooktown, you will have a 360 degree view from Grassy Hill of Cooktown, Endeavour River and the Coral Sea. Have your camera ready! Your experienced driver-guide will take you for a guided walk along the Cooktown foreshore, learning the fascinating history of this frontier town. Enjoy up to two hours to explore Cooktown before your transfer to Cooktown Airport for your 5:45pm flight back to Cairns.

Enjoy a scenic flight over the same waters that Captain Cook sailed through in 1770. Marvel at the views of the Coral sea, catch glimpses of the Great Barrier Reef, rugged coastline, World Heritage rainforest and mountains.

Their driver-guide will meet you at Cooktown’s airport then the first stop is Grassy Hill for panoramic views of the Endeavour River and Cooktown area. They then make their way to the quaint township of Cooktown for a guided foreshore walk before some free time.

The Heritage listed Cooktown Cemetery is next, then visit the James Cook Museum for a guided tour. Visit the Cooktown Botanic Gardens; established in 1878. A driver/guided walk shows many of the same plants collected by botanists, Sir Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander, as well as plants traditionally used by the local Aboriginal people. Relax at Nature’s Powerhouse Café, Art Gallery and Visitor Information Centre.

Start the journey home travelling the Mulligan Highway; they stop briefly at Black Mountain, Byerstown Range Lookout and the Palmer River Roadhouse. The outback landscape is dotted with termite mounds and many different eucalypt species. Keep an eye out for livestock that graze along the roadside before they return you to your accommodation.

Their journey begins making our way north to the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest. First stop at Mossman Gorge for a driver-guided walk in the World Heritage-listed rainforest. Enjoy a 1-hour wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, Cape Tribulation beach and a delicious barbecue lunch. In the afternoon, their driver will take you to your accommodation for the night

Day 2: Their driver will share fascinating stories and history as you travel along the famous 4WD-only Bloomfield Track before arriving at the iconic Lion’s Den Hotel. On arrival in Cooktown, visit Grassy Hill for amazing panoramic views of Cooktown, the Coral Sea & Endeavour River before a driver/guided tour of Cooktown. Overnight Cooktown.

Day 3: Visit the Heritage listed Cooktown Cemetery and James Cook Museum to learn about this fascinating goldrush town. Explore the Botanic Gardens on a driver/guided walk before a visit to Nature’s Powerhouse. After lunch we depart Cooktown via the Mulligan Highway. Stops are made en-route at Black Mountain, Byerstown lookout and the Palmer River Roadhouse. Marvel at the beauty of the outback savannah country with its vast eucalypt forests and termite mounds.

If you are into history, botany, adventure, getting away from it all, seeing the rainforest and the outback, or four wheel driving then this is the trip for you. Travel through the heart of the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park by four wheel drive as you traverse the famous Bloomfield Track, crossing rivers and mountain ranges.

Visit the infamous Aussie bush pub, the Lions Den Hotel, visit Grassy Hill with spectacular 360 degree views of the Coral Sea and Endeavour River, and learn fascinating history with your driver-guide on Cooktown foreshore walk.

Stay overnight in the historic township of Cooktown, with the following day exploring Cooktown. Visit the heritage listed Cooktown Cemetery, take a guided tour at the James Cook Museum, and explore the Cooktown Botanic Gardens, established in 1878. Relax and enjoy lunch at Nature’s Powerhouse before beginning the journey home via the outback Mulligan Highway.
