Early morning pickup from 6.50am from your accommodation where you will be met by your friendly guide, and after introductions you will then make your way heading west over the McAlister Range and your first stop for morning tea at Skybury Coffee in Mareeba.

Travel the back blocks of this wetland area viewing wallabies, emus and other wildlife. Travel through historical towns to the limestone karsts around Chillagoe. You visit the National Parks cave and the remains of the once mighty copper smelters to ponder what it was like working there just before lunch at a 100 year old pub.

The fossilised remains of the ancient coral reefs with hidden limestone labyrinths give a portal to a lost World just like their own Great Barrier Reef. Heading back towards the east coast, stopping for a comfort stop and afternoon tropical fruit tasting together with feeding the wallabies. before returning to Cairns.

From Cairns, we climb to 500 meters above sea-level and drive out of the rainforest and on to the multi-cultural village of Mareeba and award-winning Coffee Works for an introduction to Australia’s largest coffee-growing region. Enjoy unlimited coffee and chocolate tastings and explore the coffee museum.

Travel on the through banana plantations, sugar cane, and through the townships of Tolga and Atherton on route to Herberton Historic Village, voted on Trip Advisor as one of the top 10 museums in Australia! Explore at your leisure and watch a blacksmith live. Enjoy a selection of local exotic tropical fruit and local cheese platter.

We then visit the scenic lookout and then the iconic Millaa Millaa falls followed by lunch at the Smokehouse Café where you can try to spot a platypus!
