Contribute to scientific knowledge by joining Boobook’s Eco-Science Expeditions. Working alongside Australian expert ecologists, you will be actively participating in ecological surveys, gain hands-on experience and contribute to Australian flora and fauna research, including threatened species.
This rare and special opportunity, spending five days in unstudied and biologically rich environments working with expert ecologists willing to share their knowledge, is a chance of a lifetime.
BOOBOOK’s ecologists Craig and Richard have been likened to “Harry Butler” or “David Attenborough” – their depth of knowledge and understanding of this environment and all that lives here is out of this world. They are fabulous mentors and great communicators to boot.
During the expedition, you will participate in field surveys, exploration walks and wildlife searches in exciting and diverse Outback Queensland areas to document flora and fauna.
Use special techniques to identify birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and a range of invertebrate groups; help to collect, press and identify plant specimens; plus navigate with GPS and other devices to collect and record valuable ecological data ready for incorporation into databases and reports.
Eco-Science Expeditions are conducted out of base camps with varying accommodation and facilities. No two trips are the same!
