Falla Reef Trips

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

The Falla is a fully restored as original, old skool Australian Sailing Ship, She is lovingly referred to as a “Pearling Lugger” that was built for the Mother of Pearl industry in 1956. This huge industry involved mostly Indigenous divers who employed the archaic method of diving with the bronze “hardhat” helmet, lead boots, canvas suit, dive gear. There are only a “handful” of these fine wooden vessels left in Australia today. Here is your chance to relax, slow down and stop time.

These days she, as always, still dives but employs a more modern style of diving: SCUBA. You can give this a go if you like, or if you choose to snorkel, they can offer you handheld assistance if needed. Their crew is more than happy to make sure your Great Barrier Reef experience is the best it can be. The Falla is considered to be the perfect antidote to the fast paced lifestyle of our modern era.

Help hoist sails, learn about the Great Barrier Reef, go on a guided reef tour, meet our fish friends, all at no extra cost. You are welcome to have a go at the helm whilst under sail. Feel what it was like to go to sea all those years ago. A hearty meal is included, refreshments are available at a modest cost.
