Fraser Island Adventure Tours

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

Fraser Island Adventure Tours has been conducting day tours to K’gari (Fraser Island) from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast and Rainbow Beach for the past 35 years by the same owners.

Their tours take you into the best areas of the world heritage listed K’gari (Fraser Island). Fraser Island Adventure Tours discover its precious eco systems, abundant wildlife and natural beauty.

Throughout the day you touch on and appreciate nature’s magnificent paradox. Seemingly endless golden beaches encompass towering hardwood forests, barren heathland, pristine rainforests, huge creeping sandblow deserts, crystal clear freshwater lakes, gurgling blood red streams, prehistoric ferns, mosaic coloured sands.

They have modern, four wheel drive air conditioned tour buses with coach seating and experienced driver/guides that consistently get five-star reviews on Trip Advisor.

Your tour includes morning and afternoon tea and a delicious Aussie bush picnic lunch with icy cold drinks – beer, wine and soft drinks.

Fraser Island Adventure Tours and Fraser Island Nature Tours feature different areas of this World Heritage area. Some of the highlights of the day include: Lake McKenzie or Lake Birrabeen, Central Station rainforest or Pile Valley rainforest, Wanggoolba Creek rainforest, Eli Creek, 75 Mile Beach drive, Maheno shipwreck.

Services

This tour departs daily and collects passengers from Mooloolaba to Noosa. They also pick up people from Rainbow Beach before crossing over to the bottom of Fraser Island by vehicle barge. This is a short crossing of about 15 minutes but they often see dolphins whilst crossing. The journey between Noosa and Rainbow Beach is along 40 Mile Beach and Wide Bay whenever possible. Alternative route is through the Cooloola National Park and forestry.

Tour highlights on Fraser Island include swimming and lunch at Lake McKenzie and a rainforest walk along Wanggoolba Creek at the old forestry camp at Central Station. Day is approximately 11 hours from Noosa.

This tour is about an hour longer than their Adventure Tour option. It goes further up the Fraser Island beach to the Maheno Shipwreck and swimming at Eli Creek. It goes to either Lake McKenzie or Lake Birrabeen depending on the conditions on the day. It includes a rainforest walk and lunch. Morning and afternoon tea are offered on both tours. Nature Tours departs Noosa at 6am returning approximately 5.30pm to 6pm. It does not collect people south of Noosa. This tour will also pickup people from Rainbow Beach. This is a big day and is popular with the people who wish to see as much of Fraser Island in one day as possible but don’t have time to do a two day tour.
