Kinrara Expeditions four-night, five-day Expedition to MacEachern’s Camp is their landmark adventure. Expeditions depart weekly on Monday morning returning the following Friday.
From the pick-up point in Cairns, North Queensland Australia your 4WD convoy will begin the journey. The trip begins driving southwest of Cairns up through the World Heritage Listed Rainforest via the Palmerston Range. From here you’ll cross the lush ancient volcanic landscape of the Atherton Tablelands on route to Queensland’s highest town, Ravenshoe.
A delicious lunch at the historic Ravenshoe Hotel is served, followed by a tour of the premises steeped in history. This breaks the journey and allows time to get to know your Expedition members.
Upon arrival, Expedition members will be welcomed by the expedition team, after which guests will be taken to their individual platform camps overlooking an Oasis like wetland amongst a predominantly deep rich red volcanic soil backdrop.
In the near field, the silhouette of an all but lost ancient rainforest clambers over a rocky basalt lava flow, in the distance, the horizon seems to stretch forever until the orb red setting sun defines the land from the sky.
