Landsborough Museum

Galleries, Museums and Collections

This museum is possibly one of only a few that is housed within an original shire building. The historic 1924 Landsborough Shire Council Chambers is a state heritage-listed building in recognition of its modest, low-set timber construction that was designed by the early-settler architect, Walter Carey Voller.
Photos, memorabilia, artefacts, equipment and everyday items offer an insight into the lives of the early pioneers. Changing exhibitions celebrate important events that inspired or had significant impact on the region. The history of local government administration of the original Landsborough Shire Council is also preserved.
The historic town, which was named after explorer William Landsborough, is situated just off Steve Irwin Way, an easy hours’ drive from Brisbane and close to tourist attractions. It is the gateway to the Maleny Montville scenic drive.
