What an amazing experience, being there for the first moments of the life of a member of an endangered species… this is what is offered to you at Mon Repos Turtle Rookery! Visit early in the season (November – mid January) and see the adult turtles digging their nests and laying their eggs, come along later on and see the baby turtles hatching (mid January to mid March)!
All you have to do is book with Bundaberg Coaches onto the Turtle Express and it’s all taken care of for you – your transport and your turtle encounter.

On the outskirts of Bundaberg is Mon Repos, the largest Loggerhead turtle rookery in the South Pacific.
From November to March annually, Mon Repos plays host to Loggerhead, Flatback and Green Sea Turtles. What an amazing sight it is to see these huge creatures making their way up the beach to find a safe spot to dig a nest and lay their eggs! Later in the season, you can see tiny hatchlings emerge from the sand and scurry back to the sea.
Your Turtle Express ticket includes pick-up from your accommodation, transport out to Mon Repos, the turtle encounter and return to your accommodation!
Local tours include pick up and drop off from Bundaberg or Bargara as well as entry to attractions as specified on the brochure. The current offerings are as follows:
