They travel via the small country villages of Pomona and Cooran as they make their way to Gympie for a short town tour, arriving at the historic Gympie Station which has been beautifully restored to its former glory.

You then hop on board the vintage Railmotor RM76 Train which traditionally ran the Brooloo line to Gympie providing a daily link to the town for shopping, transporting of goods and a means for children to get to school.

Sit back and relax as you begin your nostalgic rail journey through the picturesque Mary Valley Region in Queensland.

Enjoy a tasting plate on board featuring local fare and learn about the food bowl of the Mary Valley Region on board as you cross the Mary River travelling through the gentle rolling hills, around an abundance of curves, over bridges and through the small township of Dagun.

Amamoor is a delightful historic town bordered by a verdant forest reserve, home to more than 120 species of birds. Here you can watch the fascinating process of the turning of the train engine on the turntable.

A trip through the beautiful Noosa countryside isn’t complete without spending time at some of the delightful villages. From delicious cafes to local markets and galleries to natural wonders, each village has something special to offer.

The first stop is Mt Tinbeerwah Lookout, offering spectacular panoramic views across Noosa to the Coast. Onto Cooroy where they take time to explore the spectacular Botanical Gardens, set on the tranquil shores of Lake McDonald. They are visiting the historical Butter Factory Arts Centre.

They then visit the quaint village of Pomona to tour Noosa’s Museum and discover the history of a bygone era and learn about the local area’s original Indigenous inhabitants, the Gubbi Gubbi people.

Their journey takes you to Kin Kin for a Gourmet Lunch, then towards the Coast and beautiful Boreen Point where you visit the Apollonian Hotel to relax in the beautiful gardens with a drink (own expense) or take a leisurely wander through the historical building that offers a unique example of 19th Century Queensland architecture.

The cruise departs from the Mooloolaba Wharf and travels out to the river mouth, showcasing sensational, scenic views down towards Noosa’s headland. This morning they depart Noosa and head up into the Blackall Mountain Ranges where the crisp air, stunning views and fantastic views of the Queensland coastline will marvel you.

Visiting Mary Cairncross Scenic Park and its Lookout, to enjoy the best views of the Glass House Mountains. They enjoy morning tea here and you explore the Rain Forest and the Discovery Centre.

Gardners Falls delightful waters are bounded by a grassy verge and backed by native forest making it the ideal spot for a dip under a fantastic waterfall bursting with life.

A short drive will bring you to the Maleny Cheeses. Here you can taste the handmade range of cow and buffalo milk cheese. Then just down the road is Gerrard’s Lookout where you can marvel at the coastal views of the Sunshine Coast.

On to Montville perched high on the Range, here you will have free time to browse, shops, galleries, cafes and time for lunch (Own Expense). On then to Mapleton Falls, a prime spot high above the Obi Obi Gorge and Mary River Valley. With endless views of luxuriant green rainforest, watch as the Mapleton Falls as it begins its 120-metre plunge to the pool below.

Hervey Bay is a small town widely regarded as the best destination to see humpback whales. They visit the bay from July to October to bask in the sheltered waters of Platypus Bay between Hervey Bay and Fraser Island making Hervey Bay whale watching the most engaging whale watching experience.

Hervey Bay is unique in terms of whalewatching as the whales are not just passing through, they stop in the bay to relax, frolic and educate their calves. Scan the seas for a flash or a splash, signalling the start of your awe-inspiring experience.

Watch the gentle giants of the sea spy-hop, tail slap and breach. Hold your breath while courting adults’ ‘boat’ around the vessel playing hide and seek as they are attracted to the Amaroos bright colours.

Experience an up close and personal mugging as they move in to watch you, watching them. You won’t miss a minute of the action as they lurch from the waves before your eyes. A 40-tonne migrating humpback whale just meters away from you is breathtaking!
