Reeforest Adventure Tours has operated in Mackay since 1986 and Col and Jenny Adamson have owned and operated the tour business from 1994. Journey to Eungella National Park’s Broken River to see platypus in their natural habitat as they feed.
The first stop is to Finch Hatton Criterion Hotel for lunch. After lunch, we then visit the beautiful Auralun Falls in the Finch Hatton Gorge for a walk around the rainforest with a interpreted guided talk about the area and a swim. After the walk we head to the top of the Eungella Range to take in views. we then head to Sky Windows for a short walk. We then take you to Broken River to see Playtpus which we have 99% success rate of spotting platypus in their natural habitat. We will arrive back to Mackay around 6.30/7pm.

Departing Mackay 3 to 4 hours prior to sunrise, you will travel to Cape Hillsborough to see the Kangaroos and Wallabies roaming the beach prior to sunrise. There you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before going to the Mangrove Boardwalk to hear about the way our traditional landowners lived in this area in the past. Breakfast will be served at the Old Station Tea House prior to travelling home by approximately 10.30 am.
