Reeforest Adventure Tours has operated in Mackay since 1986 and Col and Jenny Adamson have owned and operated the tour business from 1994. A variety of tours operate from Mackay to Eungella National Park, Bredl’s Wild Life Farm, other tours available on request such as Cape Hillsborough National Park,Historic Nebo and Mount Briton and Kangaroos on the beach and the Mackay City, meals are included in these tours . All their tours are informative and entertaining. Reeforest Adventure Tours also operate a variety of package holidays around Australia, such as Cape York, Western Australia, Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Gulf Country just to name a few. The coaches they use to travel are safe, air-conditioned and vary from 14 to 48 seaters.

This tour operates Wednesdays and Sundays and other days on request.

Journey to Eungella National Park’s Broken River to see platypus in their natural habitat as they feed.
The first stop is to Finch Hatton Criterion Hotel for lunch. After lunch, we then visit the beautiful Auralun Falls in the Finch Hatton Gorge for a walk around the rainforest with a interpreted guided talk about the area and a swim. After the walk we head to the top of the Eungella Range to take in views. we then head to Sky Windows for a short walk. We then take you to Broken River to see Playtpus which we have 99% success rate of spotting platypus in their natural habitat. We will arrive back to Mackay around 6.30/7pm.

Departing Mackay 3 to 4 hours prior to sunrise, you will travel to Cape Hillsborough to see the Kangaroos and Wallabies roaming the beach prior to sunrise. There you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before going to the Mangrove Boardwalk to hear about the way our traditional landowners lived in this area in the past. Breakfast will be served at the Old Station Tea House prior to travelling home by approximately 10.30 am.

The Mackay city tour will depart from Bluewater Quay at 9.00 am. The tour travels by bus through the streets of Mackay and highlights historical aspects of the city and several heritage-listed buildings that still stand today.

The tour then crosses the bridge to the Mackay Marina and Breakwater Wall where you will hear the story of the Pine Islet Lighthouse which is the World’s longest kerosene powered light. You will also see the stunning apartments, terminals and boats in the marina. The bus will return to Bluewater Quay at approximately 12.30 pm.
