Rockhampton Zoo

Zoos, Sanctuaries, Aquariums and Wildlife Parks

Discover more than 60 species of native and exotic animals at Rockhampton Zoo!

Come and meet the newest member of their chimpanzee family, Gandali who was born in February 2020, or stop by the Australian Wetlands zone to marvel over our giant saltwater crocodile ‘The Colonel’. Spot the colours of the rainbow in the aviaries, overload on cuteness in kangaroo country and watch the otters play like children in the water – Rockhampton Zoo has something for everyone!

Give yourself a couple of hours to meet the animals, then take a relaxing walk around Rockhampton’s Botanic Gardens and the Murray Lagoon – all free and all in the same spot!

Rockhampton Zoo is currently open 10am – 4pm everyday (with the exception of Christmas Day) with free access.

Search for Rockhampton Zoo on Facebook for the latest updates.

Rockhampton Zoo is owned and operated by Rockhampton Regional Council.
