Rockhampton Zoo

Zoos, Sanctuaries, Aquariums and Wildlife Parks

Home to almost 100 animals spanning more than 30 native and exotic species, Rockhampton Zoo is set on 10 acres within the stunning Rockhampton Botanic Gardens.

Come and meet our mischievous mob of meerkats, our beautiful chimpanzee family, or stop by the Australian Wetlands zone to marvel over their giant saltwater crocodile ‘The Colonel’. Spot the colours of the rainbow in their aviaries, overload on cuteness as the otters play like children in the water – Rockhampton Zoo has something for everyone!

Give yourself a couple of hours to meet the animals, then take a relaxing walk around Rockhampton’s Botanic Gardens and the Murray Lagoon – all free and all in the same location!

The Zoo is open 9 am – 4.15 pm every day (except for Christmas Day) and entry is free.

Rockhampton Zoo is owned and operated by Rockhampton Regional Council.
