Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours
Things To Do Clifton Beach, Cairns, Queensland
Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours is Cairns’ original nocturnal wildlife spotlighting tour company, founded in 1982. Their tour gives you the best wildlife spotting opportunities by both day and night! Australian wildlife is mainly nocturnal so their tours have a night element and a later afternoon start to the day’s touring.
Wait-a-While takes small groups into the World Heritage Rainforest to experience native nocturnal wildlife in its natural habitat. They offer a unique experience to witness rare and endangered wildlife roaming freely in tropical rainforest by night. North Queensland is home to many animals that are not found elsewhere in Australia. There is something quite unique about watching a platypus swim undisturbed or seeing a tree kangaroo climb freely in the canopy by spotlight. Just being immersed in the rainforest at night listening to all the new sounds is an experience in itself.
They venture up to the Atherton Tablelands where there is a much greater variety of wildlife such as possums, platypus, birds, snakes, frogs, kangaroos (big/small or rare tree kangaroos) and flying foxes. Their wonderful naturalist guides delight all with their enthusiasm.
The thrill of being deep in the rainforest at night is especially an experience not to be missed.
