Wildlife Habitat
Things To Do Port Douglas, Douglas, Queensland
The Advanced Eco-accredited Wildlife Habitat is a wildlife immersion exhibit – an open and interactive environment for guests and animals to mingle in a spacious natural setting.
Visitors wander along elevated boardwalks, observing up close a huge range of wildlife as birds fly and animals roam freely.
Experience the five different environments where visitors and animals mix freely, the Savannah, Wetlands, Rainforest, Nocturnal and Grasslands. Hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, observe cassowaries and Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroos and cuddle a Koala!
The Predator Plank allows you to test your courage as you “walk the plank” over crocodile-filled waters. Meet Nocturnal animals under a starry night sky in the Nocturnal Habitat. Join a guided wildlife presentation to learn more about the resident wildlife.
Experience the symphony of sounds and colours of wildlife and tantalise your taste buds at Queensland’s best tropical buffet, as you enjoy Breakfast with the Birds or Lunch with the Lorikeets.
Located at the entrance to Port Douglas, local shuttle buses operate regularly from Port Douglas to their door. If travelling from Cairns, Wildlife Habitat is located 50 minutes north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway.
