Take a leisurely drive along the Bruce Hwy between Bororen and Colosseum in central Queensland to check out the sculpture trail that is on display in various spots along the highway. Five large scale installations are dotted along this 20 kilometre stretch of highway. The first is four kilometres north of Miriam Vale, with another just one kilometre north of Miriam Vale. Stop at the Miriam Vale pub and have a play with the installation there and then continue south along the highway. There are two more sculptures, one seven kilometres south and then the final installation is at the Colosseum Creek Motel, where you can get ice cream and admire the huge steel sculptural work placed there. Pack a picnic lunch and head to Mugul Mountain Retreat for a walk among the rainforest to view ten smaller scale sculptural works hidden amongst the landscape.
