31 Mar 2021 to 7 Apr 2021 Annual Event
The Australian Waterpolo League (AWL) is Australia’s premier domestic water polo competition. Ten clubs compete in the annual event which comprises of both a men’s and women’s competition.
The AWL provides important competition opportunities for national squad members as well as the next generation of Australian water polo talent.
It is a national competition, featuring teams from four states across Australia and international players often join teams competing in the League creating a high-quality competition.
Brisbane is set to host the Australian Waterpolo League (AWL) in a new format designed to reduce any potential COVID-19 challenges.
The 8-day competition model for 2021 replaces the previous 10-12 week season for 2021. With the 2020 (AWL) season cut short due to COVID-19, the change in format for next year is designed to provide Clubs with the greatest degree of certainty in the current COVID-19 climate, allowing all Clubs to plan accordingly and maximise chances of the full event being delivered.
