10 Oct 2020 Annual Event

Mackay’s Human Powered Vehicle Challenge is in its second year in a reduce format due to COVID-19. Held at Palmyra Dragway on Saturday 10th October. This is a fun high school race that has real world challenges by using emerging technologies in ways to help further students education. School groups design, build and test vehicles within detailed specifications.

There is a drag off for grid allocation race commences at 10am and finishes at 4pm Saturday 10th October.

Teams can travel up to speeds of 70 kilometres per hour and students will have demonstrated skills in science, technology, and engineering to design and build a vehicle that is streamlined, easy to drive.

There is also a hair pin corner that at times can be hair raising for the competitors and crowd. Think about bumper cars at the show as teams jostle for positions on the track.

This is a great FREE day for the family so bring your friends also and share in the fun.
