Connect with the local Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) tribe at this unique bush tucker degustation event on September 30 at The Good Place Kawana.
The four course degustation will take guests on a culinary journey, travelling through indigenous cultures all throughout Australia, starting locally with dishes originated from the Kabi Kabi tribe on the Sunshine Coast, sweeping west to central Australia and finishing as far north as the Torres Strait.
Learn about culinary cultures that date back 60,000 years and open your mind to traditional delicacies such as crocodile, kangaroo, barramundi, oysters, bush tomatoes, wild fruit and coconut – all paired with a matching wine.
Hosted by Kabi Kabi tribe elder and storyteller Tais Lees, guests will enjoy an authentic experience as they listen to spiritual dreamtime stories that have been passed down through generations from the ancestors. Learn more about the land and sacred waterways of the Sunshine Coast and the traditional hunting and cooking techniques of this rich and thriving culture.
