As part of the Connecting Stories initiative Moreton Bay Regional Council’s art galleries are hosting two immersive Indigenous Art Tours delivered by Aboriginal Art Co.
The tours will provide audiences with opportunity to immerse themselves in First Nations Art and Culture. The tour will include
Storytelling and local histories from Traditional Owners
Lunch showcasing native ingredients
Guided exhibition tours, artist and curator talks by First Nations creatives
First Nations exhibitions at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery and Somerset Regional Art Gallery:
Caboolture Regional Art Gallery exhibition – Montages: The Full Cut, 1999 – 2015
Montages: The Full Cut, 1999-2015 by Indigenous artist Tracey Moffatt and her long-time collaborator Gary Hillberg is an ode to cinema and to the cinematic form, offering unprecedented insight into the stereotypes that populate the collective cultural imagination.
Somerset Regional Art Gallery exhibition – Country Connects Us
Jinibara artists and community members have created artworks including sculpture, prints, paintings and multimedia works that tell the story of the deep and continuous connections that are guided by their country.
Ticket price is inclusive of:
Access to all exhibitions including tour guides and artist talks
Cultural sharing and storytelling (led by Traditional Owners) as part of the chartered bus tour
Lunch showcasing native ingredients by Three Little Birds
