Layered Landscapes of Oz – an exhibition by students of the Western Alliance

Exhibition and Shows

21 Oct 2019 to 2 Feb 2020

From October 14th – 18th students from the Western Alliance, who range from Years 7 through to 10, came together in Longreach to attend their biannual Multischool event. The students travelled from regions across Queensland; some even ventured from Northern Territory to attend the fun-filled week. While in Longreach, students had the opportunity to work with Brisbane based artist and teacher, Mark Paddick. The workshop exposed students to aerosol art and over two sessions, students have produced a number of vibrant artworks. These works have been created through layering stencils on both Perspex and street signs, which were kindly donated by the Longreach Regional Council. The images incorporated into the students works reflect their unique slice of heaven, which they call home in our great ‘Land of Oz.’

This exhibition is free to view.

The exhibition will be on display at Qantas Founders Museum until 2 February 2020.
