24 Mar 2021 Annual Event
Every year, 1.4 million people die from Tuberculosis (TB). That is one person every 18 seconds.
Many people believe that TB is a thing of the past, but it is still one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases and claims more lives than AIDS and malaria combined.
Despite being curable, TB is still common and deadly because it does not receive enough political and public attention which means little public investments to find new diagnostics, drugs and a TB vaccine.
On World TB Day (24 March), Results Australia joins the rest of the world in raising awareness about TB and standing in solidarity with the 1.4 million people who lose their lives to TB every year. To help spread awareness, key buildings around the country will be lit up red including Brisbane City Hall!
Come join us from 6pm to snap a great photo and join the global light up red for TB campaign. We will be meeting at King George Square, then proceeding on foot to Brisbane City Hall and the Reddacliff Place sculptures Donna Marcus: Steam 2006 which will all be lighting up red‼️
** All Results events strictly follow state based COVID19 regulations for everyone’s safety. Please bring hand sanitiser and mask if travelling on public transport.
