Come and celebrate, as the Lockyer Valley celebrates its heritage, original settlers and the journey from then to now. Laidley township will shine on Saturday 17 April and come to life with markets, music and horse and carriage rides. Visit the Das Neumann Haus museum and hear the stories of the Neumann family as they raised a family there. The Grape vine planted by Mrs Neumann still grows there today. Local musicians Vintage Gold will keep you entertained as you enjoy the offerings from Annie’s Place Coffee Shoppe and browse the markets.
A short drive away is the Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum. Immerse yourself in the first historical village of it’s type in Queensland, established in 1972. Don’t miss the vintage cars and farm machinery, fossicking area for the kids (and big kids), Small Engine display, working Blacksmith and wood working display. the Spinners and Weaver Fine Artisans of Ipswich will be showing their skills and the Highland Dancers will amaze you with their talent. Food and drink will be available to purchase.
