Tara Festival of Culture and Camel Races

Festivals and Celebrations

2 Aug 2019 to 4 Aug 2019

Tara Festival of Culture and Camel Races is a three day event in which visitors can experience a unique blend of multi-cultural entertainment and an authentic camel race meet in a country location. Staged every two years on the first weekend in August in the tiny town of Tara, just 3.5 hours west of Brisbane and 2 hours west of Toowoomba, the population of the town swells during festival time.

In addition to the iconic camel races there is an eclectic mix of live entertainment, bands, roving performers, cuisine, arts and culture, providing an opportunity for education and interaction for everybody, with free workshops also on offer.

You can camp onsite at the festival, encouraging some 2,000 camping, caravans and motorhomes.
