The Burning by Alice McLaughlin

Alice McLaughlin is an artist who hails from Apple Tree Creek, near Childers Queensland. She is an artist who has painted and sculpted for many decades and is part of the local art movement in this area. Alice paints about the bush, including the fauna and flora. Her latest exhibition is visiting the Redcliffe Peninsula Old Fire Station Gallery from January to February 2021. It is titled The Burning, and it tells the story of fire’s impact on the bush environment. It shows the regeneration of nature through phoenix moments such as a first new green shoot, following a devastating fire.

Her works are truly beautiful and evocative. Alice will be showcasing many of her sculpture works at this exhibition, too.
