A performance celebrating Australia’s birds and how they shaped the world.
Music spanning 300 years, stunning projections and an immersive soundscape.
Join two of Australia’s most adventurous musicians, Simone Slattery (violin, vocals, Australian National Academy of Music) and Anthony Albrecht (cello, The Juilliard School), for a concert experience like no other, described as “Spectacular” by Limelight Magazine. Performed more than 60 times around Australia and internationally, the show highlights the evolution of songbirds on Gondwana, and how they have shaped human appreciation of beautiful sounds.
Performing their first concerts in over 6 months, Simone and Anthony are thrilled to be touring the Far North! Following Covid-19 guidelines, seating is limited, so get in quick! Many will remember Anthony’s solo ‘Bach to the Bush’ performances in the region in 2017.
This tour is being supported by Cook Shire Council, the Cooktown District Community Centre, the Weipa Town Authority, The Arts Council Tablelands Inc., North Queensland Chamber Orchestra and the Cassowary Coast Council, and Birdlife Australia.
The performance features photography from renowned West Australian photographers Muneer Al Shanti and Mark Eatwell.
