Toompine

Place Of Interest

Toompine known as “The pub without a town”. Cobb and Co. once serviced this town with it’s regular coach schedule. All that remains today from those early pioneering days is the South Western Hotel (circa 1893), and a population of two.

As with many Outback Pubs, Toompine is a great place to have a beer or two and a good yarn. Stop in and enjoy the unique atmosphere that includes unbeatable friendly service, all the interesting and entertaining locals and their stories, and extensive menageries to match!

Points of interest in Toompine include: excellent fishing and yabbying located not far from the pub; local ‘cemery’ is just one kilometre down the road, ask for directions and the story behind its name; opal fossicking at Duck Creek and Sheep Creek Station Opal Mines; browse the display of opals and other ornaments for sale; tennis, basketball, golf, ping-pong and more on hand; lambs, calves, goats, alpacas, donkeys, a camel and many more animals to keep the whole family busy; meals available day and night; and free camping and cheap rooms are available.
