Milich’s Landing and Daisy Bates Reserve Campsites

Caravan, Camping and Holiday Parks

Pioneering midwife Ernstine Pauline Milich helped deliver more than 200 babies in the 1900s, including 14 of her own children. A memorial stands at the landing to honour her work in local medicine.

The Landing was previously named after journalist Daisy Bates, who was living at Pyap in the 1930s when she wrote her book The Passing of the Aborigines. Her old camp site is marked with a plaque and the area is known as Daisy Bates Reserve.

Access to the area is via a bitumen road and is accessible in most weather conditions. The area is well shaded with large trees and provides free campsites for caravans, camper trailers and tents.
