Canoe the Coorong is an Ecotourism company showcasing one of South Australia’s best-kept secrets – the Coorong National Park!

Canoe the Coorong offers all inclusive, guided kayaking tours of the Coorong, Murray Mouth and Goolwa region. Tours are suitable for participants of all ages, offering a unique way to see a spectacular part of South Australia.

A Coorong full day tour involves about three hours of kayak cruising, broken up with numerous stops and delicious local food. Stretch your legs and take a closer look at native coastal flora on a bush tucker walk across the Younghusband Peninsula to the Southern Ocean. The tour incorporates interpretation of the area’s international significance, culminating at the Murray Mouth.

Canoe the Coorong also offers sun set tours, overnight camping experiences, four night expedition, school groups, corporate team building and self-guided kayak hire.

Located at Goolwa, approximately 96km from Adelaide, Canoe the Coorong offers environmentally sustainable kayak tours of the Coorong National Park which enable visitors to the region to get a glimpse into the unique landscape that is the Coorong National Park while having a minimal impact on the native flora and fauna.

Services

From $75 to $90

Hire a Kayak and explore the Coorong at your own pace and leisure. Kayaks can be picked up from Goolwa if you have roof racks. Or can be dropped on at your chosen departure point: eg. Mundoo Road, Goolwa Barrage, Sugars Beach (within 15km of Goolwa Free of charge).

Kayak hire is for a full day – sunrise to sundown, if that is what you would like.

They have a range of kayaks for hire (please check the website for kayak types) and all kayaks come with paddles and PFDs. They also have PFDs for young children

Join family and friends for a peaceful kayak to the Murray Mouth on the Sunset Tour.

After a leisurely stroll around the sand dunes enjoy a picnic of local cheeses, seasonal fruit platter and beverages, overlooking the spectacular scenery that the Coorong has to offer.

A short kayak trip back as the sun is setting over the water provides beautiful photo opportunities and a magical ending for your Coorong experience.

Winter tours depart at 3:30pm from Sugars Beach (Hindmarsh Island) and return to Sugars Beach at 6:30pm.

The Coorong Tour is a relaxing one day all inclusive kayak tour showcasing the Coorong and and the Murray Mouth.

The Coorong Tour includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and is run by highly qualified and experienced Guides.

The group departs from the end of Mundoo Channel Drive at 9am and will return to Sugars Beach (Hindmarsh Island) at approximately 3:00pm.

The tour will involve about three hours of kayak cruising, broken up with numerous stops and delicious local food.

A walk across the sand dunes to the Southern Ocean will allow guests to stretch their legs while their Guide takes you on a ‘bush tucker’ walk.

Interpretation of the area’s uniqueness and its current state will be incorporated throughout the tour culminating at the Murray Mouth.

The Overnight Camping Tour is a relaxing overnight all inclusive kayak tour of the Coorong and Murray Mouth region. The tour involves a kayaking expedition to an already setup camp site, where you will be taken on a bush tucker walk through the dunes where you will collect some ingredients for tea. Night time activities include spotlighting and cooking lessons. Try your luck with some surf fishing for salmon or the elusive mulloway. Interpretation of the area’s uniqueness and its current state is incorporated throughout the tour culminating at the Murray Mouth.

This is a customized experience to suit you and your group.

The winter months are a spectacular time to explore the Coorong.

Winter has some of the best weather conditions with gorgeous days and light winds.

It’s also when the wildlife in the Coorong can be at its best, with Pelicans, Fur Seals and Dolphins seen regularly as well as some spectacular scenery.

This tour allows you to explore the beauty of the Coorong and Murray Mouth. With a relaxing paddle around the Murray Mouth and a walk over the sand dunes to the Coorong Beach in the heart of Storm Boy country.

You will be warmed up with some delicious home-made goodies and hot chocolate.

10:00am Meet at the Sugars Beach Boat Ramp.
10:30am Introduction & get on the water.
11:00am Kayak around the iconic Murray Mouth.
11:30am Walk over the dunes to the spectacular Coorong Beach.
Noon Enjoy homemade goodies and hot chocolate.
12:30pm Say farewell to the Coorong
1:00pm Kayak back to Sugars Beach and try your luck at catching some fish.
1:30pm Arrive back at your Car.
