Coorong Wildside Tours gives a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the iconic Coorong exploring the lagoons and sandhill by boat and foot.
Glen and Tracy Hill offer a range of informative, educational and fun ecotours including small boat tours, walks and environmental monitoring with local scientists.

Specialising in small intimate groups and tailored itineraries to suit your needs. As well as their signature Seabirds and Seals tour there are a number of other tours and activities that engage visitors with insight into the flora, fauna and fish.

You will receive personal attention and a unique perspective of the region from an experienced skipper and fisherman who has 30 years of observations and stories. Tracy shares her new home with visitors to enjoy a stunning 180 degree view of the Coorong, a stones throw away.
A local chef has been engaged to create dishes that incorporate the delicious fresh fish caught by Glen.

This is our signature small group tour so imagine yourself on the Coorong where very few people get to travel. The new especially designed “Wildside”, a drop front barge allows us to get into places larger vessels can’t.
Watch a myriad of birds wheeling overhead, waders hopping along the shoreline and the iconic pelicans coming in to land. Emus appear out of the low scrub and seals laze on the barrages that stretch across the barrier between the freshwater lake and the salty lagoons. A trip of a lifetime with an experienced guide and fisherman. Enjoy your morning tea, add in a seafood lunch or dinner to make your day complete.
Glen Hill your skipper also known as the “Wild man” shares his years of experience to inform educate and entertain you. Take the unique opportunity to explore the Coorong and its wildlife with tours of the lagoons, sandhills and surrounds.

Experience a half day of participating in wildcatch fishing just like a local fisherman.

Have a go at setting and retrieving a net, picking out a mullet or mulloway and taking them back to the factory for a filleting lesson.

Enjoy sashimi style fish on the shore of the Coorong before enjoying a gourmet lunch with owners Glen and Tracey. You will never forget being a decky for a day.

Do you want to know about the Secrets of the Coorong? Come for a boat ride with your personal guide Glen Hill. Become a field scientist for a day.
You have an opportunity to look beneath the surface of the Coorong to see what secrets are hiding there. Examine the mud and algae to look for the types of plants and animals that inhabit this unique ecosystem. Examine them under a microscope, take a photo and learn the science behind the ecology. This is hands on citizen science at its best. Our local Estuarine Ecologist, Faith Coleman, has helped design the scientific content. Information has been sought from experts at the South Australian Herbarium. Resources have been prepared of dried samples of algae species and descriptions of what you observed on the water. Learn about the formation of the Coorong and learn about mud waves, black ooze, discover keystone species and more. Enjoy a morning tea while listening to a presentation back at the Hill’s residence.

You are invited on a journey with your hosts Glen and Tracy Hill who give you a behind the scenes of award winning Coorong Wild Seafood. They will give you an insight into how the regional delicacy, Coorong Mullet, is caught and processed. A wealth of local knowledge is coupled with a guided tour of the processing factory, as well as tempting you with tastings of their products.
Learn about our local fishing industry and the secrets behind the fishing and processing of the famous Coorong Mullet, carp and more.
Enjoy a tantalising tasting of the underrated but delicious Carp. Our tour can be tailored to your interests with a video presentation or alternatively a cooking demonstration featuring simple recipes that you can use at home.

Indulge yourself with our High Tea which features local seafood, regional produce and indigenous ingredients. You will be captivated by the full vista of the sandhills and stunning Coorong view from the deck of the Hill’s residence, overlooking Gibby’s Bay.
Relax with good company, while watching the pelican’s, ducks and other birds take off and land on the shoreline and afterwards, take a stroll down to the beach only a stone’s throw (or two) from the shores of the Coorong.
Glen will share his passionate knowledge of this unique waterway while Tracy delights you with her tasty savory and sweet treats served with a glass of bubbles and cup of coffee or tea. You will also be sampling their award-winning seafood which is caught , processed and prepared by the expert pair.

Experience Meningie as only the lucky few ever do. Glen and Tracy welcome you on their boat, the Wildside, and share the history and sights of Meningie while you meander along the picturesque shoreline. Observe the majestic pelicans relaxing on their roosts. Travel from the town jetty next to Meningie’s Jubilee Park to Meningie Cheese Factory Museum. Enjoy a relaxing barista coffee and cake at Freshies Bistro in the delightful garden overlooking the southern shores of Lake Albert.
Meningie is a charming holiday destination at the northern end of The Coorong which was created as a staging post for local travellers and graziers. The large number of parks beside the lake, the reeds and the large numbers of birds, all combine to make it a town of particular beauty.
The design of the boat enables you to walk on at the boat ramp and walk off making it accessible for people with mobility difficulties. It is also a dog friendly activity as Freshies allows dogs on a leash.
