A locally-owned and operated company which received silver at the 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards, Flamboyance Tours focuses on promoting the vibrant capital of South Australia as a must-see destination on foot.

Owner and guide Katina brings European guiding experience back to her home city with infectious passion.

The works of one renowned local artist is featured in the Jimmy C Street Art Tour, while small-group tour Be an Adelaide Local: Intimate Walk is an immersive look into city landmarks through a local’s eyes. Adelaide food tour The F Factor is the only Adelaide tour focused purely on the city’s local, fun foods and where to find them.

We also offer tours to school groups and corporate groups on request across the year.

Services

From $60 to $200

Flamboyance Tours provides private walks across Adelaide’s city centre for your convenience, led by a local tour guide with international experience happy to answer your questions. This is suitable for those who want to avoid the crowds, or larger travel/student/corporate groups.

A private tour can be tailored to your preferences and range from 2-4 hours. A 2-hour private tour will follow a default route of the South Australian capital, including landmarks such as Adelaide Oval, Parliament House, Adelaide Arcade and the Adelaide Central Market. Longer private tours can be customised, which comes at an additional cost (please enquire).

What is fritz? A Fruchoc? Find out when you join us on Adelaide food tour The F Factor! This two-hour tour is all about the fun foods we grow up eating in Adelaide and South Australia.

Discover the local meats and sweets of South Australia on this food history tour. As we detail the stories of these locally made products, you’ll taste the city’s best chocolate, nuts, and iced coffee, plus oddities we grow up eating in Adelaide: a frog cake and some fritz. Finally, a market lunch will be provided by a popular bakery (a meat pie/pasty etc of your choice). You’ll take away a surprise dessert plus extra goodies to continue your Adelaide food journey.

This isn’t just an Adelaide tour around the city. This is a small-group walk allowing those with a deeply curious nature to step into the shoes of a local, and shown around intimate locations across the main part (northern end) of Adelaide’s city centre.

Along this 100-minute walk on Saturdays, learn about how James Cochran created his drip-style effect and developed his talent for inspiring work. With stories and quotes sourced from the man himself, appreciate his unique style as you view his pieces across the city centre. We’re proud to call Jimmy C one of our own, and after this, you’ll see why!

This tour is family friendly, but particularly recommended for children aged 10 and up. It is also suitable for corporate groups.

Flamboyance Tours presents the queer history of Adelaide in a 1-hour audio tour through the VoiceMap app, sharing the stories of LGBT life and people as you visit sites across the city centre.

Along the walk, you’ll hear stories ranging from the quirky to tragic.
