Galleries, Museums and Collections

“George” The Giant Squid can be found on display in The Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum. George was found in the stomach of a whale off the coast of Albany – Western Australia in the late 1970’s. He was donated to the Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum in 1984. He has recently been placed in a new tank, along with a new solution of glycerin, you can see him in this tank without any discoloration as he should be. Local school children from St Mary MacKillop School drew pictures of ‘George’ which are also on display around ‘George’. Please come and visit ‘George’ in his new home.
