Our Gibson Wines Experiences are offered with both our first and second generation owners – Rob and Adam.

Spend a full day with Rob combining winery experiences, private vineyard tours, scenery, food and wine. Or spend a few hours with Adam learning about individual vineyard parcels and soil while tasting straight from the barrel.

Day with The Dirtman

As a Baron of the Barossa and founder of Gibson Wines, Rob Gibson’s history in wine crosses four decades. As winemaker, viticulturalist and geologist, he has earned the title ‘The Dirtman’ for his passion and expertise in winegrowing, soils and in depth understanding of what lies beneath.

Day with The Dirtman is an opportunity to join Rob Gibson personally, for an expertly guided full-day immersion into the Barossa. The day blends deeper vineyard, soil and wine discovery, with insights on how to ‘live like a local’. You’ll discover some of the region’s passionate food artisans, get access to special vineyards and vistas normally off limits to public, all whilst being treated to down-to-earth Barossa hospitality.

Barossa Shiraz by Barrel

Start your day in the Barossa with Gibson, with our daily Barossa Shiraz by barrel experience. This is an opportunity to step into the world of small batch winemaking. Join Adam, ‘The Duke’ and vintage winemaker at Gibson, as he guides you through a tasting of Shiraz straight from the oak barrel its maturing in. Learn about Gibson’s method of layering flavour through both vineyard sites, ‘fractions’ and oak selection.

The tour includes a barrel tasting and a seated cellar door experience, where you will be guided through Gibson’s current vintage releases, including our super premium bottlings.

Add a small cheese platter for two to your experience. Enjoy cheeses and accompaniments from Barossa Cheese while seated for the cellar door experience.
