Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary offers self guided day time and guided nocturnal tours. It is one of the most reliable wildlife viewing areas on Kangaroo Island. It is the home range of many koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidna, goanna, Cape Barren geese and over 40 other species of birds. Because most of the wildlife is nocturnal we recommend a nocturnal tour otherwise the best viewing is early morning and late afternoon.
Day time visitors may stay all day. Sit and relax after a stroll with the Koala’s and enjoy a cup of our fantastic coffee or stay for a homemade light lunch.
We now offer guided day tours and these are perfect for time poor guests that need to see animals quickly and with expert information.
