Heritage Walk

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Approximately a leisurely two hour stroll, the Heritage Walk of Port Augusta will allow you to understand how Port Augusta contributed to the development of the Outback of South Australia. It was once a major shipping port which allowed access to our remote areas.

The walk commences from the Wadlata Outback Centre, 41 Flinders Terrace and a copy can be collected from the Visitor Information Staff or if preferred an electronic version can be downloaded from the Wadlata website www.wadlata.sa.gov.au.

If entering the city from the south, turn left at the second set of traffic lights on Victoria Parade. If entering the city from the north, turn right at the third set of traffic lights and look for the windmill.

Pause a while in Port Augusta and stretch your legs on the Heritage Walk.
