Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

In 1920 a series of locks and weirs were installed along the River Murray. These structures were built to divert water to the emerging agriculture industry and also to improve navigation of boats along the river. There are six locks in the Riverland. Lock 3 at Overland Corner has a big beautiful grasses area to overlook boats as they pass through the lock, or simply enjoy a picnic.
